Zachary Ray - Find Your People: How Shared Belief Builds Something Bigger than You

Zachary Ray did not set out to build a coffee company. He set out to change the world, and coffee turned out to be the vehicle.

A first generation college graduate of Fort Lewis College, Zach went on to work for Oxfam America, train grassroots change makers across the United States, and spend three years in rural Myanmar helping communities build their own path out of poverty. He lives in Durango full time as the chief bean of Desert Sun Coffee Roasters, a certified organic and beyond fair trade roastery that strives to brew a better future through partnership and environmental commitment. Desert Sun Coffee Roasters partners with businesses that care about people and the planet to deliver an exceptional coffee experience, making the act of drinking coffee a powerful step toward a more just and sustainable world.

Today, Zach serves as Vice Chair of Cooperative Coffees, the only roaster owned importing cooperative in North America, and on the board of Shanta Village Partners. He is a living example of his own core belief that business, done right, is one of the most powerful tools we have for good.
